The Offices of Emergency service from Yuba and Sutter Counties as well as the city of Wheatland have been displaced because of the evacuation orders associated with the Oroville Dam, so they have moved their operations to the Rood Center in Nevada County and are operating out of that center. Nevada County PIO Joshua Pack says they are focusing on providing services for the residents who had to evacuate.
A majority of the evacuees who came to Nevada county are finding shelter and services at the Fairgrounds.
Some of the evacuees are also staying at the First Baptist Church on Ridge road. the Shelter at the Calvary Bible Church is now shutting down because of low turnout there. Pack says as usual the people of Nevada County have stepped up with their generosity to help .
An update from emergency services is expected shortly after noon today on the condition of the Dam and when the evacuations orders might be lifted.
