Outstanding Police Officer and Volunteer Honored By City Council

At the Grass Valley City Council meeting Tuesday night, two members of the Grass Valley Police Department- one a longtime volunteer and one a sworn officer received recognition awards from the Council. The Volunteer of The Year went to Del Mack and Mayor Dan Miller presented the award following praise from Chief John Foster.

delmackAlong with being a police department volunteer, Mack also volunteers at Interfaith Ministries and helps care for the 13th infant he and his wife Marian have taken into their home as a temporary caregivers under the Foster Care System. Mack also works 24 hours a week at Sierra View Manor as a maintenance supervisor.

The Council also recognized Officer of the Year, Dale Norvell.
