Allene Zanger is Executive Director of the Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, which is facilitating the transfer. The 41-acre parcel is adjacent to the Yuba River at Englebright, which Zanger describes as steep, covered with oak trees and wildlife, and complementary to the needs for the University of California and the research that is being done. The land transfer was finalized last month, and is among the first of several anticipated land transfers to the University of California as part of the bankruptcy settlement.
