Park Avenue Learning Site “Attacks Hunger”

Students at a local high school are “Attacking Hunger” as part of a service learning project this Friday. The student body at Park Avenue Alternative Education Site in Grass Valley is holding their 5th Annual Community Food Drive, benefiting Nevada County Food Bank.
Event Co-coordinator, Randy Fields, says it is great away to involve students with community support.

The food drive is a drive through drop-off Friday 7:30-2p.m at the school on Park Avenue.
School Staff and Students will be available to collect your donation. Fields says they have a big goal.

In recent years the students have come close to filling the trailer.

Fields says that the students involved in the program are learning to give back to the community in which they live.

Suggested food donations include most non-perishable packaged items such as canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, turkey, stew and chili),  canned veggies,  pasta & pasta sauce, beans, rice, healthy cereals, peanut butter, jam, baby formula and baby food.
