Parole has been denied, for a fourth time, for a now 59-year-old man convicted of a Nevada County murder that happened about 34 years ago and sentenced to life in prison. The District Attorney’s office says Daniel Adamik posed as a hitchhiker who intended to steal a vehicle. A motorist, Jon Gabera, picked him up near the Truckee Donner Pass area on I-80. Pong acknowledges Adamik’s age and good behavior over the last 20 years of confinement. But he still feels Adamik lacks sufficient insight into his life of crime and still poses an unreasonable risk to society.
