The Placer County Sheriff’s Department didn’t get nearly the amount requested for an inmate rehab facility. But Lieutenant Carol Walsh says the 9 and a half million dollars that they’ve been awarded by the state would still enable them to construct a standalone 168-bed facility at the existing South Placer County jail and provide some of the services they’d like for inmates…

The facility would include spaces for programming, group and interview rooms, and staff and administrative support spaces. Walsh says there is currently no construction timeline.
