Pedestrian Hit and Killed By Two Big Rigs

A Colfax man was killed early today (Wed.) while trying to make it across Interstate 80 in the Auburn area. His name is not available yet. CHP officer David Martinez says the victim was a young adult who was attempting to cross the westbound traffic lanes, from the center divide, west of the Elm Street overcrossing…

Martinez says alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor for the big rig drivers. But the sobriety of the pedestrian was unknown and will have to be determined through a toxicology report that normally takes weeks to be completed.
