Pedestrian Struck on Highway 49

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and left in the roadway on Highway 49 at Rio Oso in Placer County early this morning. Auburn area CHP Officer Abe Cho says the responsible party had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

The CHP has an identity of the man that was struck and killed but is not releasing it at this time. A press release with more details is expected to be released later today.
