Peeler Case Continued but Preliminary Hearing Set

The defendant in an assault case involving a gun tries to continue his case again. Brice Peeler was in court Thursday afternoon seeking a continuance in the trial over events that took place in September of 2012. At the courthouse Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson told KNCO’s Paul Haas that Peeler has been using the same excuse for a while.

The events leading up to Peeler’s arrest involved brandishing a gun and pointing it at the victim’s head. Fortunately Peeler did not shoot the victim. However, Ferguson says the DA’s office will not tolerate gun crimes.

The preliminary hearing is set for mid-October with a felony conference on October 7.
Peeler was advised by Judge Candace Heidelberger to act quickly if he is going to hire a private attorney.
