Peeler Case Continued One More Time

The trial of a man accused of a late night assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on a dark country road in Penn Valley back in 2012 has once again been continued. Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson says defendant Brice Peeler requested a continuance because he has not received the support of a court appointed investigator.

Peeler has had his trial continued several times over the past two years while trying to settle on a defense attorney and also dealing a with a trial for other crimes.

Ferguson says that Peeler has switched attorneys several times.

Judge Tom Anderson clarified with Peeler that he is representing himself and understands the gravity of the situation.

Ferguson was prepared to proceed with the preliminary hearing today, but doesn’t want to jeopardize the trial by not allowing the defendant his rights.

The next court date for Brice Peeler is set for December 2nd if everything proceeds as scheduled.
