Penn Valley Community Church Destroyed by Fire

A tragedy in Penn Valley early Saturday morning. The Penn Valley Community Church on Spenceville Road was destroyed by fire. Interim Penn Valley Fire Chief Don Wagner says the call came in around 4:00 AM.

The conditions were intense as the fire was burning hot and at that point water resurces were running low.

The building is total loss.
Several factors may have contributed to the fire growing before crews actually responded.*

Wagner says multiple agencies responded and water tenders ran water from the closest resource.

Once the main blaze was knocked down, mop up began. Crews were opening up as much of the structure as possible.
