The Penn Valley Community Foundation is getting the word out to more and more people of their plans to build a new Penn Valley Cultural Center.
Rod Fivelstad is on the Foundation Board and says it would benefit the whole community to have a Cultural Venue.
Fivelstad says the new Cultural Center would also have 5,000 square feet that would be leased to the County for a new Library which is three times larger than what they have now. They would also have 8,500 square feet for a performing arts hall and large lobby that also could be used for cultural events. They also plan to build a commercial kitchen.
He says Penn Valley is just a six minute drive from Grass Valley and the Cultural Center would be easy to get to.

Fivelstad says a Contractor has already begun design work.
An Acoustical Engineer is also designing the building for great sound. The cost is estimated between 6-7 million dollars. Community donations and a USDA loan will finance the project. If they can break ground within the next year, Fivelstad says they would hope to have the Penn Valley Cultural Center open 18 months after that.
