Walsh stated earlier this fall that the issue is more about Steuber’s ability to follow legal proceedings and did not believe Steuber was mentally incapacitated during the crime. Steuber was arrested in July in the shooting death of his live-in caretaker, 67-year-old Sandra Lebarron. He also uses a wheelchair and has various medical problems.
