Phone Scam Alert From Nevada Co Sheriffs Dept

The holiday season always seems to attract fraudulent activity. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says there has been one victim, so far, and his department has received a number of calls regarding a phone scam…

And Royal says the caller says you can pay for that warrant by getting a gift card, through giving the suspect personal information, and the issue will supposedly be resolved….

Royal urges residents to be cautious about talking to strangers on the phone and to take steps to protect themselves.
