QUilt Show Honors Quilts of Foremothers

There was a good turnout for the Pine Tree Quilt Guild’s Springtime in the Pines Quilt Show at the Nevada County Fairgrounds this past weekend.  This was the 33rd annual Quilt Show for the Guild. One of the exhibitors and former owner of Heidi’s Fashion Fabircs store in Grass Valley, Heidi Emmett says she remembers back in 1983 when the Quilt Guild actually got started at her store.

The featured exhibit this year was a tribute to Honoring the Quilts of our Foremothers. It was a display of beautiful and historic antique Quilts.
Besides the members of the Quilt Guild making the Quilts for the show, the Pine Tree Quilt Guild also makes and donates quilts to many local charities for people in need. they also make scholarships available to local high school students to further their knowlege in quilting and textiles.
