The American Cancer Society recieved an $11 thousand dollar check from an unusual fund riaser. Most people are aware of the Relay For Life event, held the first weekend in June at the Fairgrounds raising money to fight the battle against cancer and supporting cancer survivors in their fight. But did you hear about the pink tractor? Rod Haskins a cancer survivor and tractor collector has wated to auction off a tracotr for the American Cancer society for some time and with the help of the Oregon House Community he was able to do so.
At least year’s tractor days the tickets went on sale with the unvieling of the two-tone pink tractor and Haskin Says it’s been quite a year.
The winner was drawn at this year’s Oregon House tractor days and a South County resident Jackie Stoval won. The check to the American Cancer Society for $11 thousand dollars was presented at a gala event in Sacramento for the American Cancer Society. Haskin says he has ideas for a new project to benefit the wounded warrier project.
