There will not be a ban on outdoor medical marijuana grows in Placer County, at least for now. After getting several complaints from neighbors and others, the Board of Supervisors discussed the issue at their meeting in Auburn yesterday. Becky Riggan is a Principal Management Analyst in the County C-E-O’s office. She says the board had three options. They could have banned marijuana cultivation in the county, regulated it, or chosen a “wait and see” approach…
The wait-and-see decision will allow Placer County to see if the state legislature takes any action on the issue. There are five marijuana-related bills making their way through state government right now. This is a passionate issue, and Riggan says the board chambers were crowded…
No date was set as to when the issue would come before the board again. Yuba County recently passed an ordinance banning all outdoor marijuana grows.
