Placer County Residents Follow Crime Using Technology

Residents who live in the Placer County Sheriff Office’s jurisdiction may now sign up to receive notification of crimes that occurred in their neighborhoods. Sheriff Department Public Information Officer, Dena Erwin, says the department has partnered with internet-based Crimemapping.com

It’s a simple process to sign up- Erwin has even signed up for the service to keep informed about her neighghborhood.

The Sheriff’s Office, through Crimemapping.com, provides public access to crime information for unincorporated Placer County, the City of Colfax and the Township of Loomis. It is updated regularly with public information about certain types of crime reports.
Crimemapping.com also provides a free mobile app for iPhones.
