Plates and Car Turn Up Stolen

On Thursday afternoon, a man walked into the Grass Valley Police Station to report theft of license plates from his work truck.

Then later that night Sheriff’s Deputies found the plates when Sheriff’s deputies have recovered a stolen car, and also made two arrests.  Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says around 10:30 last night (Thursday), detectives located a car matching a description of a stolen vehicle at the Riebes Automotive parking lot in Grass Valley. It was a passenger vehicle with commercial plates, and a check showed that both the car and the plates were stolen. Royal says a surveillance was set up, and two guys did come back to the car.

Royal says the 27 year-old McGrath had a buddy with him .

McGrath and 30 year-old Michael Bowden was also arrested. Both were booked on suspicion of posession of stolen property and a variety of other charges.
