I have been broadcasting high school football, mainly Bear River Bruin football, for the past 19 years here on KNCO. In all that time, I have never seen a Bruin team play with such emotion and passion as they did this past Friday night, defeating Lincoln 47-6. On the Zebra sideline was their head coach, Chris Bean, who coached nearly every player on the Bear River varsity when he was the Bruins JV football coach. I could see it in the players before the game…they wanted to remind Coach Bean what he left behind at Bear River. And then, after the game, they reminded him how much they loved him, showering him with hugs and handshakes and tears. It was truly one of the most special moments that I have ever seen in sports and any level. Now, if Coach Logue and Coach Savoie and bottle up the emotion that carried the Bruins to victory last Friday, they can make a long run in the Division V playoffs!
