Grass Valley Police are looking for the owner of a pit bull that attacked and killed another dog in Condon Park. Lieutenant Steve Johnson says the attack happened last evening (Tuesday)…
He also took the dog to a local vet, but it had to be put down because of it’s injuries. Johnson says no one reported it right away…
There’s also a question at this time of whether or not a crime was committed, because the dog was not on a leash. Johnson says the pit bull owner is described as caucasion male in his thirties, long blond dreadlocks. He was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt, and carrying a green backpack. Johnson says a lot of people should have seen it…
If you do have any information, please contact Grass Valley Police.

How horrible. There are all kinds of people who walk the trails and all around condon who DONOT obey leash law.. Just last week-One guy had two boxers who he allowed to run up to us from behind--in attack mode(the heads where down) while he casually jogged behind them a great distance-grabbed his leashes he had stashed in the bushes near the creek.. while wearing earphones..Doesnt say anything to his dogs to keep at bay....as i have to command his dogs to stay away. Tall/slim man late 20ish..I carry a stun gun for those dogs who dont listen or have owners that can control them. Several times i have had to defend my dog who is on a leash.! Heck theres aggressive dogs onleashes. Condon/Same trail german shepard few days prior -That dogs owner was being pulled and tugged around. I seriously thought he was going to drag her behind him. She had no control of him. Very aggressive actions. He was growling and snarling. I had started using his name and commands to help him listen. The two of us yelling at her dog...we did not turn our backs or move. Stood our ground show no fear...All the while my good dog on a leash minded her manners.
If your dog is loose and aggressive and we have an encounter- i will zap it to protect mine!
If your dogs aggressive keep it at home. Obey leash laws.
Too many folks let their dogs wonder unleashed. Instead of a nice walk/day thru the park.. And allthe normal thing to be on the look out for-----You have to wonder when the next unsupervised dog is going to be jumping out at you. LOVE dogs- its the owners who i ponder.
