Nevada County’s free green waste disposal program is now officially back for a second season, for a longer period, and with some new features. The program begins Sunday May 17 with three dropoff sites–the Rise Gold Site on Brunswick Road in Grass Valley, the Penn Valley Rodeo Grounds, and the N-I-D site on Francis Drive in Alta Sierra. Jenn Tamo with the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services says this year’s model was also built with social distancing in mind…
Dropoff dates are Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 9am to 3pm through June 27, and free wood chips will be available for pickup on Fridays and Saturdays. Tamo says steps have also been taken to make things more efficient…
The program is a collaboration between Nevada County O-E-S and the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County, and funded through a grant from the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District.
