Postal workers Food Drive is this Saturday

The Food Bank of Nevada County is reminding people that the 24th annual Letter Carrier’s Food Drive is happening this Saturday, May 14th. People are encouraged to put non perishable food items in a bag by their mailbox and the letter carriers or a crew of volunteers will pick it up.John
Candeelaria who is a volunteer at the food bank says they could realy use your donations this year.

He says Nevada County is considered a rural county and is proud to say that throughout the past 24 years county residents have  consistently donated more food during the postal workers drive than any other rural county.

Good items to donate include can goods, pasta, wholesome grains and soups, anything in a sealed package.

The national Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive is this Saturday. They ask you to put your non-perishable food items in a bag by your mailbox, and it will be delivered to the Food Banks of Nevada County. To make a direct donation people can contact the food bank at 272-3796 or donate through their website www.foodbankofnc.org
