Pot Advocates Positive After Meeting With County

For the first time since the defeat of Measure W last week, county officials met with medical marijuana growers about the future of medical cannabis in Nevada County. Even with defeat of the measure, the ban on all outdoor grows is still in place for now, but the Board of Supervisors had promised to act if the measure was defeated. California Growers Association Chair Jonathan Collier says with this year’s growing season almost over, they are still hoping for a short term compromise, and have put forth a proposal…

Two County Supervisors–Nate Beason and Hank Weston, along with County Counsel and a representative from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department. Although the meeting was described as productive, further meetings have not yet been scheduled.
