Nevada County’s Medical Marijuana measure is on hold, for now. A judge has temporarily stopped Measure W because of a writ filed to have the measure thrown out. Forrest Hurd has an eight year old son who is dependent on medical marijuna for a treatment of a rare form of epilepsy. He says he wanted the Board of Supervisors to make an exception to the ordinance that would ban outdoor grows…
Hurd says the Board wouldn’t listen to his request, so he had no choice but to challenge the entire measure…
Hurd says his son is being categorized as a ‘poster child’ for commercial growers in the medical marijuana industry…
A hearing was held on Friday, but was continued until tomorrow (Tuesday) at 8:30am. A decision by the judge is expected sometime on Tuesday.
