Pre-Coronavirus Jobless Rate Shows No Change

The last pre-coronavirus employment numbers, from February, have been released for California’s counties. And it shows Nevada County has the 13th-lowest rate among the state’s 58 counties, at three-point-seven percent, the same rate as January. It is two-tenths of a percent lower than a year ago. There was a monthly loss of 40 jobs in the Retail sector. And there were just minor gains in the Mining, Logging, and Construction and Information sectors, of 10 jobs each. The March rate is expected to show an unusual surge in unemployment claims from the pandemic.
