December is traditionally one of the wettest months of the year, but it’s expected to stay dry for at least another week. As for November, the Grass Valley area received only about half of its normal allotment, or three-point-two inches, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento. Meteorologist Sierra Littlefield says it was actually twice what fell on us a year ago. But for the season to date, she says we’re at just 36-percent of average, so far…
As for when this pattern will change…
The wettest November on record for the Grass Valley area was 21-point-2 inches, back in 1973. The driest was in 1995, when we received just six-tenths of an inch.
