Prevent heat-related death of children

Leaving a child six  years or younger alone in a vehicle is illegal and can be lethal during hot summer days.

Officer Marc Morrison with the California Highway Patrol in Grass Valley says two groups of parents are included among offenders.

Those are national figures.

The CHP says to “look before you lock” when leaving a vehicle to make sure no child has been left behind.
