Prop 64 Means Reduced Pot Charges For Two Men

Thanks to passage of Proposition 64, two men arrested on marijuana related charges in Nevada County Wednesday morning can no longer be prosecuted for felonies. Smethers says 21-year-old William Henderson, of Grass Valley, and 24-year-old Patrick Pugh, of Nevada City, were taken into custody, with charges reduced, under the new law, that legalizes certain possessions of recreational marijuana….

Smethers says there will be a period of adjustment, in how the medical marijuana law, as well as how the county’s current urgency ordinance regulating marijuana growing, applies to the legalization of recreational marijuana.
