Property Tax Deadline Is Looming

The deadline is looming for paying the first property tax installment in Nevada County. It’s December 10th. Treasurer-Tax Collector Tina Vernon also says they were able to mail out billing notices a little earlier this year, thanks to an upgraded system. Vernon says the delinquency rate has never really faltered, despite the changes, or at around two-percent. And if mailing close to the deadline, she highly encourages a hand-stamped postmark, to ensure a timely payment and avoid the 10-percent penalty. As always, the second installment is due April 10th.
