Every year just before Christmas, county property taxes become due and County Treasurer-Tax Collector Tina Vernon says this year is no different. Today, December 10th is the date payment should be received. However, the way you pay your taxes may change as a result of COVID.
Payment can be mailed- as long as it is postmarked by December 10- or dropped off at the drive thru drop box or inside the entry way of the Rood Center. Payment may also be made by phone, or online via credit card or electronic check.
However, if a property owner needs to pay by cash, they need to make an appointment to go into the office today.
Property owners unable to pay their bill by the 10th due to COVID hardship may seek a penalty fee waiver, but need to provide documentation showing the impact of COVID. For more information visit MyNevadaCounty.com
