Property Taxes Due Wednesday

April is tax time and income tax returns are due on April 15 and Property taxes are due on April 10. Nevada County Treasurer and Tax Collector Tina Vernon wants to be sure you are not penalized for late payments.

Many property owners have taxes witheld as part of their monthly loan payment. Vernon says banks are ususally pretty good about making the tax payment, but she recommends checking with your loan carrier to be sure payment is made.

Property tax payments can be made by mail, dropbox, or by electronic payment options. Vernon says it can take a bank up to 10 days to send a payment to  the collectors office,  so be sure to allow time for banks to send payment by the April 10 deadline.
