In what’s described as a “very rare” legal move, Nevada County prosecutors have prevented a Grass Valley man from being released from prison this week, after serving over three years for continuous sexual abuse of a girl under 14. Assistant District Attorney Chris Walsh says the judge ruled, after a hearing, that 37-year-old Christopher Kalish meets violent sexual offender criteria that allows him to be sent to a mental facility indefinitely. He says Kalish had also been convicted ten years ago, in Livermore, of possessing thousands of child porn images…
Walsh says Kalish can still challenge the determination…
Walsh says the girl was a daughter of a friend of Kalish’s.
