Protesting the Protest

Not all of the protesters outside the gate at the Nevada County Fairgrounds were protesting the elephant rides. One Nevada County resident Camille was protesting the protesters.

Good on you Camille, good on you! That's what I have been thinking all along. What if some little kid got to ride an elephant and love it sooo much that they made it there life's mission to save them from the poachers in the natural environment.

I would love to hear why exactly she feels all the Animals "here" (assuming at the Fair) are treated inhumanly????? I have been showing animals at our local Fair since I was a kid and now with my kids and have NEVER seen an animal inhumanly treated. These Kids work extremely hard all year long, taking Exceptional care of their animals and continue doing so at the fair. It's an Excellent Experience & Educational for a lot of People and kids.

What's funny is I agree with her. I am vegan and therefore am against all cruelty to animals. She looked like just another protester so her intentions were lost. Perhaps she should find some focus on what her beliefs are, because she sure seems confused. She certainly does not care about these elephants, so I highly doubt she cares about pigs or wild elephants. Some consistency would probably be good.

I listened to Camille and appreciate her commenting, and having a viewpoint. I do not agree that the elephants presence at the fair is positive and informative. Many in the public, perhaps Camille herself are not educated in the actual treatment of these large wild animals. I believe that her argument could have been better served by educating herelf, and understanding the plight of the elephants, then joining forces rather than polarizing. She is standing alone here for a reason.
