Psychedelics and Speed Involved in Arrests

Two men involved in a fight also got into it with some deputy Sheriff’s, who were sent to quell their disturbance. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the deputies were called to the fight at a Peninsula Drive home Saturday Night. Royal says as the deputies arrived, 31 year-old Erik Snyder started coming at the first deputy. After Snyder was repeatedly told to stop, the deputy used his tazer.

Both men were taken into custody after a struggle.The two men were reportedly about to use magic psychedelic mushrooms when the deputies arrived. Snyder was taken into custody for the possession of the mushrooms and obstructing a peace officer. His 29 year old friend was taken into custody for being drunk in public and obstructing a peace officer. Both men were booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.

In another incident, a man purchasing food at a fast food restaurant wound up with a trip to jail. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a deputy saw 34 year-old Jerrid Gartin of Grass Valley and knew there was a warrant for his arrest. Royal says Gartin was taken into custody Sunday and was trying to remove suspicious packet from his pocket.

Gartin was taken into custody for possession of dangerous drugs and the warrant for four different violations of probation.
