A Grass Valley man is facing a number of charges that appeared to stem from a prowlinig incident Monday afternoon. Royal says the suspect, 32-year-old Sean Spittler, then got out from underneath the car and took off in another direction in a second quad runner that was in the garage. He says Spittler, while trying to evade detection of patrol cars, crashed near a ditch and was injured. But he says Spittler was still able to take off again and was not located that day. But it turns out that the home was equipped with surveillance cameras…

Royal says the footage confirmed Spittler’s identity and he was arrested on Tuesday at the Taco Shell, where the quad was also recovered in some bushes behind the business. Royal says Spittler confessed to his crimes.
