You may recall the Helen Mirren movie “Calendar Girls” wherein a club of “women of a certain age” decide to make a racy calendar to raise money for a local charity. Quest Theaterworks is one of the first companies in the nation to secure the rights to produce the funny, yet poignant, play and will tour the show from Grass valley to Truckee to Auburn this Spring. As in the play, Quest Theaterworks, a non-profit itself, has teamed up with non-profit Hospice of the Foothills to benefit from a calendar featuring the local actresses who star in the upcoming production. *

That’s Quest Theaterworks Artistic Director Scott Ewing and Hospice of the Foothills Development Director Mark Waters. Alicia Berardi of Ivy Photography took the pictures, the calendar closely matches the poses in the original, true life calendar made by the ladies of the Women’s Institute in Yorkshire, England. Ewing says there are poses of women gardening, knitting, reading, serving tea, painting, all wonderfully and modestly nude, except for some strategically placed props. *
