The Chapter 11 filing came yesterday afternoon, and it was announced at that time that the company will sell between 15-hundred and 24-hundred stores to a consortium including Standard General and Sprint while restructuring. Baskett says he doesn’t have any idea if Sprint would be interested in taking either of the Grass Valley stores…
Baskett says he’s optimistic that the stores will stay open, but at the same time, has started to look for another job just in case…
The other Grass Valley store is on Sutton Way, which also has about a half-dozen employees. Radio Shack has been in business since 1921.

Radio Shack needs to 're-brand' themselves. Remember when people didn't like the word "fried" and Kentucky Fried Chicken rebranded to be KFC?
Radio Shack provides great products. Yes, radio (don't mean to hurt your feelings) has a very limiting set of definitions. "RS Electronics" would better describe their inventory.
