The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum has raised $7,195 of their $9,500 goal to build a new turntable at the Railroad Museum. Once finished, 3-foot narrow gauge operations can begin again in the county for the first time since 1942. Jim Fessler is one of the engineer volunteers at the Museum. He says in order to operate the train they need a way to get the rail bus turned around. The turntable will be just like the ones in San Francisco that they use to turn the cable cars around.

The Kickstart program allows for a certain amount of time to raise the requested amount of money. They have just under 11 days left to collect what they need.

Fessler says they’re already working on restoring track and the rail bus and the turntable will be the final part to get the train running.
