An area supermarket helping out Habitat for Humanity. On Saturday, the Raley’s Supermarket in the Pine Creek Shopping Center challenged 5 other
Norther California Raley’s and Bel Air Supermarkets to a BBQ Cookoff in their parking lot. Raleys Assistant Manager Beau Hull says the competition is for bragging rights, but the profits benefit Habitat for Humanity.*
Hull says stores from Chico to Natomas sent teams to support the cause. Store manager Betsey Perez wants local residents to know they are here to be part of the community and pleased to be helping Habitat for Humanity.*
All of the stores were impressed with the turnout about half-way through the time period over 100 customers had sampled each of the six secret… or
not so secret recipes…. Jay from BelAir in Sacramento had a secret sause he was willing to share*
Lorraine Larson Executive Director with Habitat for Humanity says proceeds fro the BBQ will go to thehouse Habitat is currently fishing…and it special to Raleys.*
Well over 1000 dollars was raised for Habitat for Humanity through the Raleys BBQ Contest. Any local organization wishing to partner with Raleys is encouraged to contact Manager Betsy Perez.
