Rapid Rehousing Program Working

Hospitality House, Nevada County’s homeless shelter program is also having success in putting clients and other members of the community into their own permanent housing.  Board President Joanna Robinson says the agency received a $148,000 Housing and Community Development Grant in January for a Rapid Rehousing Program and they assigned two full time and one half-time  staff members  to the project.

They look for logical solutions to problems getting in the way of a person being in their own home.

It can be things like finding them transportation, connecting them with housing assistance programs even getting them needed medications .  Robinson says so far they have taken on 67 cases ranging from individuals to entire families and 23 have obtained housing.
