Another fundraising drive is underway to help individuals and families in Northern California most impacted by the coronavirus. Associate Director of Programs, Matt Cervantes, is with the Center at Sierra Health Foundation. He says they’ve launched what’s called the Rapid Response Fund, in partnership with the California Wellness Foundation, for 23 counties, including Nevada County. Cervantes says older adults, low-wage workers, and the unemployed are among those targeted for food and help with paying rent and utility bills, with money being administered by groups best-equipped for such essential needs…
Cervantes says about 150-thousand dollars has been raised so far, with additional organizations and private contributors, including businesses and private donors, to increase the fund.
