Rash Of Crashes In Nevada Co From Rain

The biggest rain system so far this fall has kept law enforcement agencies very busy responding to accidents in Nevada County. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says there have been at least a-dozen since the system started coming through around mid-day yesterday (Sun.). And that does not count spinouts where the driver didn’t hit anything. Most were non-injury or minor injuries, but one head-on crash may have resulted in more significant injuries yesterday on Highway 49 in the South Yuba River Canyon area. Tassone says a CHP officer responding to one canyon accident was almost hit by a driver skidding on the road, after having to suddenly slow down.
