Rash Of Motorcycle Crashes Reported

Accidents involving motorcyclists continue to be on the rise in Nevada County and the vicinity this season. Three occurred in two and a half hours Sunday afternoon on various stretches of Highway 49. Two resulted in serious injuries. Tassone says the driver, 62-year-old Tracy Ceresola (sarah-sola), had severe lacerations. His passenger, 60-year-old Virginia Ceresola, had complaint of pain to an arm and shoulder. Both are from the Reno/Sparks area. The second serious injury collision was in Sierra County near Bassetts Junction, north of Shaffer’s High Sierra Camp. Tassone says the lone occupant of this motorcycle was 29-year-old Gregory Settles, who is from the Sacramento area…

Tassone says Settles had moderate injuries to the back, possibily including broken bones. And the third crash also occurred in Sierra County, closer to Nevada County, near a Forest Service road, where 52-year-old Quincy Malone, also from the Sacramento area, laid over his motorcycle. But he did not require medical treatment at the scene.
