Reach Out if Feeling Overwhelmed

The holidays are a time of happiness for most people, but they also bring on some tough times for people that may be alone or facing challenges in their lives.  Captain Rex Marks of the Grass Valley Police Department says the number of calls related to mental health coming into the department has risen over the past couple of weeks.

Marks says that the calls from people considering suicide is a concern to all involved.

Marks says there are resources available to those feeling stressed and he encourages people to reach out. Many times the situation can be short term if appropriate help is received. Law enforcement, medical, and mental health services are ready to help anyone in need of support, especially during the holidays.
