Reading Program Selects Book for 2018

Getting a head start for next year, the Nevada County Reads and Writes program has selected their book for 2018. It’s called ‘Everything I Never Told You’, by Celeste Ng (eng). Libraries in Nevada County will feature programs and events having to do with the book throughout the year, and will also hold their annual writing contest for high school students. Grass Valley Librarian Crystal Miles calls it a thriller and a mystery, and says you learn early in the story that the main character is a woman who has died…

Miles admits the subject matter is pretty heavy, but it’s very educational…

While anyone who is interested in participating in the program can start reading the book now, it won’t be readily available at the library until after the first of the year, so it’s not necessary to begin reading it now. Activities surrounding the book for next year’s Reads and Writes program are still in the planning stages.
