Tom Fitzsimmons is the Program Director for Nevada County Broadcasters, and morning show host at KNCO NewsTalk 830, but his favorite job is being husband to Roxanne and Dad to his daughter's Katie and Kelly, and step dad to Tyson and Megan. Tom and Roxanne just became grandparents with the birth of Megan's daughter, Hazel Virginia. Tom also is the voice of High School Football and Basketball play by play. His hobbies include playing and watching all sports and taking long hikes both locally and in the Sierras with his dog, Angel. He also has taken up distance running and just started to get into road cycling.

Ready for some football?

I know I am ready.  College and high school football start this week and the NFL in just a week behind.  Best part of my job is doing play by play and love it when Friday Night Lights are back!  Geoff Flynn joins the NU broadcast team of Dan Miller and Rick Metz and get to have a home game as they host the McQueen Lancers from Reno.  Glad to see that the AD’s and administrators made the change in venue happen so quickly and seamlessly.  I have to wait another week for Bear River to begin its season at Union Mine High School.  But, all the best to all the athletes out there in ALL sports.  We all love football, but I know that the cross country teams, soccer teams, volleyball and water polo teams, tennis and golf are all getting started on their seasons as well.  Go..Fight..Win!
