Amy Stapleton Horn says Teuscher is definitely a hero and saved her life. As a result, he will be the recipient of this years Public Safety Commitment Award at The Red Light Ball this Saturday night at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. It is the 14th annual event featuring dinner and dancing and the award ceremony. Last year 500 people attended. Tickets are $50 per person and can be reserved by calling 477-0947.
The Nevada County Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Council over the years has raised some $650 thousand dollars to purchase much needed equipment for agencies. This year alone the council purchased new tasers and go bags for Grass Valley Police; helped to purchase a mobile command center trailer for Nevada County Search and Rescue; and update mapping for area fire agencies. The also contributed funds to improve radio communications between area law enforcement.
