Red Light Ball Honors Jerry Karnow

The 18th annual Red Light Ball was held Saturday evening at Alta Sierra Country Club. This event is the largest fund raising event for the Nevada County Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Council, and was a sell out with 230 people in attendance. Supervisor Ed Scofield served as the Master of Ceremonies and Law enforcement and fire personnel served as color guards. Mike Bratton delivered the invocation and Chris Stepanion sang the National Anthem beautifully.

Each year a Community Achievement Award is given to a deserving member of First Responders, and Halbey announced there will be an addition to the award starting this year.

Sheriff Royal and Chief DeSena of Cal Fire then presented Jerry Karnow, recently retired from California Fish and Wildlife with the Bill and Susan Drown Community Achievement Award.

After a great dinner and desert the guests had a wonderful evening of dancing and socializing. A big thank you to the NCLFC for a great event!!
