Reduced Charge Filed In DUI ATV Death

A Grass Valley woman who faced a possible second-degree murder charge, after a fatal ATV crash 4 months ago, is facing less legal consequences. Assistant Nevada County D-A Chris Walsh says they’re filing a gross vehicular manslaughter charge against 28-year-old Carlee D’Arata, after a lengthy investigation. The Sheriff’s Department says D’Arata was having a party at her home and was highly intoxicated when she decided to drive the ATV, which ejected the victim, 31-year-old Antonettte Thevenin, who died later at the hospital. D’Arata and two other passengers had minor injuries.
